The Retail Progressive Wage Model will be implemented from 1 Sep 2022! Over the next 3 years, about 46,000 retail workers will benefit from annual wage increases, minimum training requirements and a career progression pathway.
Monthly wage of entry-level retail assistant/cashier to 18% from $1,850 in 2022 to $2,175 in 2024
Enhanced Progressive Wage Credit Scheme will provide employers with up to 75% co-funding for wage increases in 2022. Employers will also have a 6-month adjustment period.
