TGIF! #DidYouKnow it was world water day on 22 Mar? Water is a precious resource that many might take for granted, and as a tiny city, we’re counting our blessings for our water supply, sustainable waterways, and reservoirs.
You may know Marina Barrage as the perfect picnic spot with amazing views of the city, but here's a #funfact: it’s also Singapore’s 15th reservoir, a flood control centre, and the first in the heart of the city!
With a catchment area of 10,000 hectares, Marina catchment is the island’s largest and most urbanised catchment. Together with two other reservoirs, Marina Reservoir has increased Singapore’s water catchment from half to two-thirds of the country’s land area.
