Happy Monday! Handmade ang ku kueh are a rare find these days, where are our ang ku kueh lovers at?!
Ang Ku Kueh, or “Red Tortoise Cakes” , are literally shaped to look like tortoise shells with the Chinese character “寿 shou” or “longevity” imprinted in the centre! While ang ku kueh has its roots in China, most Singaporean stalls have adopted the Nyonya style of making this delicacy, which gives it its chewier red pastry texture.
