Sitecore 10.2 has been released!
There are plenty of new features available, the most significant are the ability to make headless (and eventually to Jamstack) existing MVC and SXA sites in a similar manner to JSS. And of course the latest shiny Horizon which now supports SXA, and bot headless - JSS and .NET Core renderings.
You can read about

Other changes include plenty of new stuff in SXA, Headless Rendering 19 with a support of Next.js 11 and Vue 3.x. Container and version upgrade improvement and Server 2022 support.

Jason St-Cyr @ Sitecore:
"Sitecore are going to release an XM cloud in the future, so that switch should be easier.
Whether you want .net core, JSS, MVC, SXA... That is up to what your team can build with probably.
Next.js against JSS headless services hosted on Vercel is what you will see a lot from Sitecore because of our partnership with them, so if you are trying to stick close to that path outlined at Symposium, then that would be the route to go.
But, as of 10.2, you can get there with MVC or SXA too, so, really up to what you want"
