Thanks to @socialstudies4socialjustice for this post: “It’s important for young people to be able to counter the common misconception that all civilizations had slavery, and so the enslavement of Africans by Europeans was no different. Believing this falsehood perpetuates racism because it makes it easier to place the blame for societal failures (which are remnants of chattel slavery) onto individual Black people.” source

2021-06-23 22:35:14 The fact that white people are offering to make/sell Juneteenth crafts and not link Black artists...

Just like Indigenous causes always have white women crafters taken over with their cricut hobby and making stuff for Indigenous' causes but not putting money back into their communities.

People exploit oppression every turn they get! This is why a lot of us hate the performative “make it a national holiday,” because we knew this would happen. And with this Juneteenth holiday, most Black people will be working while white people sit back on their “day off” and making a side hustle out of something caused by them.

And before y'all say it, we know! #NotAllWhitePeople.

Grade 10 boys at an Anglican school in my country were given a task in 'Christian studies' class, using 25 points to allocate what they think is important in a lasting relationship. Girls at the same school were instead taught the importance of keeping their virginity. source

Without movements led by Black Americans — such as the Civil Rights Movement — most Asian Americans in the U.S. today would not be here. source

Been working on this one a while. CRT experts out there, please correct me or add on!

P.S. This is the third and last time I’m uploading this pinche thing. Ughhhh damn typos.

P.P.S. There are two “thes” somewhere in there & the last slide should read “assuring critics”. Not “assuring c” Fuck it. I’m going to bed.
