Why did Kyrgyzstan cancel the CSTO exercises? Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic Edil Baisalov explained to @rian_ru that the reason is the recent conflict with Tajikistan.

"We have absolutely indestructible membership in the CSTO, we have no problems with this organization, with the mandate, with the mission, with the charter — there are no problems. But, of course, in the light of recent events, the blood has not cooled down."

"The situation has developed in such a way that the public opinion of Kyrgyzstan will not welcome the same elements of the armed units of our Tajik neighbors to be present at these exercises."

And without Tajikistan, it doesn't work out that, "here, you don't come, but Kazakhs, Russians and Belarusians — you will come." This does not happen, so we had to cancel the participation, and there is an absolute understanding in all the capitals of the CSTO. However, we are concerned that this is being misinterpreted, and speculation is completely irresponsible about this."
