The Russian-Kyrgyz Foundation has allocated $5.6 million for the construction of a hydroelectric power station in the Batken region.

The total capacity of the station will be 5.9 megawatts, and the annual output will be 26.3 million kilowatt—hours, according to @Sputnik_Kyrgyzstan.

The Batken HPP project was developed by Rosatom engineers. The corporation will also become the main supplier of equipment.

Construction work began in March 2022 and is scheduled to be completed in March 2023.
