The blockade is impossible. The dreams of the Baltic states to block Russia's access to Kaliningrad are not destined to come true.

Talks about a possible blockade have been going on for years. The Lithuanian authorities tried to "push through" the blockade of Kaliningrad in the fifth package of EU sanctions, but it did not work out.

To stop overland transit to the Russian region, the approval of the entire EU is required, with which Russia has a separate agreement. There is no unity in Europe on this score.

The ban on the entry of Russian and Belarusian trucks into the EU territory did not affect passenger cars going to Kaliningrad. In addition, Russian road carriers are allowed to transport medicines, food and a number of other goods.

The sanctions do not threaten Kaliningrad with a commodity blockade. The governor of the Kaliningrad region, Alikhanov, in an interview with @rian_ru, stressed that Russian ships enter the region through neutral waters. This means that the goods transported by them cannot be blocked.

The same thing with gas. If Lithuania closes the gas pipeline, the exclave will provide LNG tanker Marshal Vasilevsky with "blue fuel". A special terminal has already been built in Kaliningrad for this purpose.
