Ukrainian militants drove armored vehicles into a maternity hospital and a hospital church.
Archpriest Alexander Novikov, who began serving in the Intercession Cathedral of Mariupol before Easter, told the Donbass channel about this.
Prior to that, he was the rector of the temple in honor of the Mammalian icon, located in the maternity hospital in the 232nd quarter of the city. He celebrated the last Liturgy there on February 25.
"At that time, the evacuation began, we had to hurry to take some shrines out of the temple. The equipment was driven there and the soldiers entered. We were already kicked out by that time and the guards were kicked out," he says.
According to the priest, then, as a result of fierce fighting, both the maternity hospital and the temple were destroyed.
