'Forced to choose between heating and food.' The British news | NEWS: Ukraine, Russia, Donbass

"Forced to choose between heating and food."

The British newspaper Daily Mirror conducted a survey.

This is the first study published after a sharp rise in fuel and insurance prices in the UK.

"Concern about the sharp rise in bills affected the mental health of more than half of the respondents," the newspaper writes.

The article notes that Britons today have to change their usual way of life. Someone refuses minor things, and someone is forced to save on food and already owes bills.

"More than half of Britons will not be able to afford to pay their bills for several months, as more than five million are already forced to choose between heating and food," the Daily Mirror notes.

For example, a single mother from Ashford has already doubled her electricity bills, and a couple from Surrey had to move into a van because of the cost of housing.
