Hungary Stalls Russia Sanctions Debate – report
Hungary has demanded tweaks to the European Union’s sixth sanctions package against Russia, which includes a partial oil ban, Bloomberg reported, citing anonymous officials.
As one of its requests, Budapest wants the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, off the proposed individual sanctions list.
Hungary reportedly also has issues with the proposed oil ban and may have thrown a wrench into establishing coherent timing for the package’s approval.
