2021-04-07 04:26:24 FrankenFirmware - mixing files/parts of different FW versions

You may hear about it or no, but it is the way SX OS 3.1.0 can run on FW 11.0.1

Don’t google it and please read this post till the end

Every instructions that you can find about how to run SX OS 3.1.0 on a newer unsupported firmwares are made in the same FrankenFirmware way. BCPKG donor partition from FW 11.0.0 used and injected in to newer FW files. This method known for many months already and it is strongly recommended do not use by TX Support.

Here is answers for most important questions:

Why you should NOT use it?
* Every FW which is not officially tested and supported by SX OS may have broken Stealth mode, you can notice it only if you get banned
* It is corrupting firmware what may confuse some apps, or it may prevent FW to boot on next updates
* If you loose NAND backup and if you don’t fully understand how it is working you may get your switch bricked
* You can’t restore original firmware if you don’t have a backup

Why you should do this?
* Get the higher numbers of FW version in your switch settings
* There is no other advantages

Yes, this is it. Actually you can run everything that is possible to run with FW 11.0.1+ on the SX OS officially supported 11.0.0 emunand. There is completely no difference in CFW usage at current moment, but only if you use installers like DBI which are patching version requirements on the fly, not the builtin SX OS Album installer.

While we don’t have a new SX OS updates, the only disadvantage of that for now is that modchip users have to use Genuine Boot menu to run OFW, instead of using regular OFW button.

If the FrankenFirmware way become reasonable I’ll make a safe instructions for you and I’ll post it here @SX_OS. Currently there is no reasons to do that. And it is not what people wish to get https://t.me/SX_OS/227

Everyone can create downgraded Emunand which runs FW 11.0.0 and can launch everything what is possible to run on FW 11.0.1 and 12.0.0 at current moment.
