Saudi Arabia will build 7 new solar power plants.
Saudi Arabia has signed power purchase agreements with 7 new solar projects that will provide electricity to more than 600,000 households, Reuters reported.
Saudi Arabia's first renewable energy project was launched on Thursday. According to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, by 2030 plans to produce half of the kingdom's electricity from gas and half from renewable sources. These figures will displace about 1 million barrels of oil equivalent to liquid fuels. According to SPA, the new projects will be considered, as independent electricity producers, and the Saudi Power Procurement Company will buy electricity for 20-25 years.
