I've had many share with me recently they don't know how much more they can take in the battle.
My response? "Good, because when we reach the end of OUR strength then we get to see what GOD can do."
Have you heard the phrase,
"God will never give you more than you can handle?" 1 Corinthians 10:13 is the verse where this quote is originally derived from:
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." While this is a great verse, it's talking specifically about temptation, not struggles. No where in Scripture does God say we won't go through struggles and experience pain. In fact, the Bible gives countless examples of the exact opposite.
God never promised a trouble-free life; He promised He would never leave us or forsake us, even in the trouble.
A quick look through the Bible will uncover examples of God using people who had surpassed their personal strength and had to lean fully on God for His strength.
God will often allow circumstances that push us beyond our own human limits because then, and only then, can God get all the glory for what happens next.
When Paul was facing a “thorn in the flesh” (2 Corinthians 12), instead of removing the issue like Paul asked, God told him
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness” (v. 9).
We are going to face circumstances in this life that are too much for us to handle alone, that's a fact; however, you can take hope in knowing we will never face a circumstance that is more than He can handle.
If you're struggling today, know you are in the perfect position for God to receive glory in the fight. Trust Him, and allow Him to fight for you.
