Thailand will allow the cultivation of cannabis for the purpose of making medicines and nutritional supplements. The country's government will distribute 1 million medical cannabis plants to local residents. The program will begin June 9, 2022.
The only strict condition is to grow exactly medical cannabis with a low content of tetrahydrocannabinol - the main active substance - below 0.2%. However, the production and use of marijuana with high levels of active ingredients is still punishable by law.
