Chinese speleologists discovered a cluster of sinkholes in the south of the country. One of which stands out for its enormous size and lush vegetation: a giant sinkhole in the ground 192 meters deep, at the bottom of which extends a primeval forest, 150 meters long and 306 meters wide. To understand the scale, it's about a block of Manhattan along with the skyscrapers.
Experts suggest that the relict forest system may have preserved species of plants and animals new to modern mankind.
