The first electric Taiga snowmobiles roll off the assembly line in Canada

Taiga Motors reports that future snowmobile owners will have instant torque, zero throttle delay and a thermoregulation system to keep the battery working even in sub-zero temperatures.

Three TS2 models have been developed - the Ekko mountain snowmobile, the Atlas crossover and the Nomad all-purpose touring model. Acceleration to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a range of almost 100 km on a single charge. The "performance" version has more power - 180 hp.

A robot that crawls on walls

HausBots is a company from Birmingham, UK. The developers' goal is to use technology to protect and support the built environment.

They designed and built an innovative climbing robot that can climb vertical surfaces.

The robot is connected to a ground control panel with a 110-volt electric cable and is controlled remotely. It can also be equipped with attachments weighing up to 6 kg that allow it to perform different tasks.

Hyundai's New MobED

The new MobED looks very simple, but it has unusual functionality - it is equipped with innovative suspension and universal steering, and thanks to this it can overcome any bumps and obstacles as gently as possible.

MobED can accelerate up to 30 km/h. Its dimensions are 67×60×33 cm and weight is 50 kg. The developers point out that during the motion the wheels can extend up to 65 cm for better stability and shrink up to 45 cm when you need to make a maneuver.

The robot is planned to be presented and shown live on January 5 at CES.

Japan builds a tanker that carries electricity for 22,000 households

The PowerX Company is building the Power ARK 100, a trimaran capable of carrying 100 battery packs with a total capacity of 200 megawatt hours - roughly the amount of electricity consumed by 22,000 Japanese households in a day.

The ship is designed to be 100.5 meters long and 21.9 meters wide. The Power ARK 100 will have a displacement of 2,200 tons. Its cruising speed will be 7 knots, and maximum speed is 14 knots, or 25 km/h. It will be able to navigate up to 300 km.

The construction of the trimaran is to be completed in 2025.

Oppo has developed a wearable display in the form of a smart monocular

The device attaches to the frame of regular glasses opposite the right glass. Air Glass is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 mobile platform and features a built-in battery, speaker and a pair of microphones with the ability to connect wirelessly to smartphones and smartwatches.

The touch-screen control panel is on the outer surface of the monocular, but the device can also be controlled using gestures. For example, a nod of the head can be used to check for incoming notifications.

The image is provided by a micro-LED matrix and the Spark micro-projector, which includes a projection system with five lenses to ensure a clear image.

Cute little animals are not about them. They are dangerous predators. Look at wildlife with different eyes.
They can be dangerous and bloodthirsty...

But now there is a channel

Look at the cuttlefish robot: It swims underwater, skates on ice, and walks on land

New York-based Pliant Energy Systems has built a marine robotic system that resembles a cuttlefish.

The fins give the Velox robot three times the thrust of a conventional propeller for a small boat. It can move underwater and even go on land, using its fins as robot legs.

The design has already piqued the interest of the U.S. Office of Naval Research.

A giant wind farm in the North Sea

This is a project by the Dutch company TenneT, which proposed creating an artificial island of 6 square kilometers in the middle of the sea and installing many wind turbines around it.

The station will be able to produce up to 30 GW of electricity (which is more than twice the energy produced by offshore wind farms in Europe) and supply five countries - the Netherlands, the UK, Denmark, Germany and Belgium.

The project is planned to be implemented by 2027.
