On May 15, 1997, the Federal Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany issued a resolution on the rehabilitation of those who were prosecuted by the military justice of Nazi Germany for conscientious objection to military service and desertion.

This date has become the International Day of the Objector to Military Service.
