Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra in Morigaon district in Assam, India.
Wildlife Sanctuary holds one of the largest Indian rhinoceros populations in Assam

Under the Indian Rhino Vision 2020 (IRV 2020) which is a joint programme of the Department of Environment & Forests, Govt of Assam, WWF India, the International Rhino Foundation and the US fish & wildlife service, six rhinos were translocated from Pobitora and re-introduced into the Manas National Park between December 2010 and January 2011. Earlier, under the same programme, two rhinos were similarly translocated from Pobitora to Manas National Park in 2008.

It is located on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River.

It is 49th Tiger Reserve of country, notified in 2016.

It has the smallest core of 78.28 sq. km.

It is also known as the mini Kaziranga National Park (IUCN site) since the two parks have a similar landscape made up of marshes, streams and grasslands.

The park has a rich flora and fauna, including great Indian one-horned rhinoceros, pigmy hog, elephants, wild buffalo and tigers. It is the only stronghold of rhinoceros on the north bank of the Brahmaputra river

Nameri is also declared as Tiger Reserve in the year 1999-2000, which is the 2nd Tiger reserve of Assam after Manas Tiger Reserve. It has 2 core areas: Nameri National Park & Sonai- Rupai Wildlife 红 (Satellite Core of the Nameri Tiger Reserve).
river Jia- Bhoroli is the lifeline of Nameri, which flows along the Southern boundary of the park from North- West to South- East.
In the eastern side, the river Bor- Dikorai flows along the southern boundary from North- East to South- West which is the tributary of river Jia- Bhoroli.
The vegetation type of nameri is of semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forests.
This is excellent elephant country and was considered to be an elephant reserve. It is an ideal habitat for a host of other animals including the tiger, leopard, Hog Deer, sambar, dhole , Gaur, clouded leopard, leopard cat, Barking Deer, wild boar, sloth bear, Marbled Cat, Himalayan black bear, capped langur and Indian giant squirrel.
