International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA) :

The Prime Minister launched the IBCA.

In July 2019, Shri Modi called for an alliance of Global Leaders against poaching and illegal wildlife trade in Asia on Global Tiger Day (29th July).

The aim of IBCA is to focus on the protection and conservation of seven major big cats of the world – Lion, Leopard, Snow Leopard, Tiger, Jaguar, Puma and Cheetah.

Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated a program, ‘Commemoration of 50 years of Project Tiger” in Mysuru, Karnataka and also launched International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA).

Details :

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated a program, ‘Commemoration of 50 years of Project Tiger’ at Mysuru University, Mysuru in Karnataka and also launched International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA).

He released a commemorative coin on the completion of 50 years of Project Tiger .

Also, released the publications – Amrit Kaal ka vision for tiger conservation, a summary report of the 5th cycle of management effectiveness evaluation of tiger reserves, declared tiger numbers and released the summary report of all India tiger estimation (5th cycle).

At present, India is home to 75% of the world tiger population and the tiger reserves in India cover 75,000 square kilometres of land.

During the past 10-12 years, the tiger population in the country has increased by 75%.

India contributes 8% to the known global biodiversity, though it has only 2.4 % of the total world’s land area.

India is the largest tiger range country in the world, the largest elephant range country in the world and also the largest single horn rhino country in the world.

India is the only country in the world to have asiatic lions.

The total number of Ramsar Sites in India are 75.

FTP 2023 intends to establish e-commerce hubs and associated elements like payment reconciliation, bookkeeping, returns policy, and export entitlements.

The consignment-wise cap on E-Commerce exports was raised from ₹5Lakh to ₹10 Lakh in the FTP 2023.

Export Promotion of Capital Goods (EPCG) Scheme :

The existing EPCG scheme will be further rationalized.

Some measures taken in this direction include the addition of the PM MITRA scheme to claim benefits of the CSP (Common Service Provider) Scheme of Export Promotion Capital Goods Scheme (EPCG).

Advance authorization Scheme :

Advance Authorisation Scheme has been expanded to the export of the Apparel and Clothing sector.

Merchanting Trade :

The policy has introduced provisions for merchanting trade.

Merchanting trade involves the shipment of goods from one foreign country to another foreign country without touching Indian ports, involving an Indian intermediary.

Moreover, merchanting trade of restricted and prohibited items under the export policy is made possible by the FTP 2023.

Amnesty Scheme :

To reduce litigation, foster a trust-based relationship, and reduce the challenges faced by exporters, a special one-time Amnesty Scheme is introduced.

2023-04-25 14:07:03 The first Global Tourism Investors Summit (GTIS), under India’s G20 Presidency will be held in New Delhi from the 17th to the 19th of May 2023.

It will serve as a platform to enable interaction between domestic and international business leaders and explore investment opportunities in the Indian tourism and hospitality sector.

Based on export performance will be made partners in capacity-building initiatives.

Status recognition norms have been re-calibrated for better branding opportunities in export markets.

Promoting export from the districts

The new policy aims to collaborate with State governments and take forward the Districts as Export Hubs (DEH) initiative to promote exports at the district level.

This would also accelerate the development of the grassroots trade ecosystem.

Streamlining SCOMET Policy

The SCOMET (Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment, and Technologies) policy should be made more robust to implement international treaties and agreements.
