Located In Maharashtra and built during the 2nd century BC to the 6th century.

These Buddhist caves were built over two phases (time period). The first one was during Emperor Ashoka’s reign, and the second one was during Gupta’s reign.

There are 31 rock-cut caves depicting sculptures of Buddhism from Sri Lanka.

It is located on the banks of river Yamuna near Dehradun district in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.

It is home to species such as the white rumped vulture (critically endangered), the ruddy Sheldak (List Concern), the red headed vulture (critically endangered), the Asiatic woolly neck (weakly) among other species.

Spread across 4.44 square km area
