2021-09-14 09:26:36 I have noticed that some people confuse the words "ingestion" and "congestion". They sound a bit similar but don't mix them up.

INGESTION is an occurence when some object is sucked into the engine. (попадание, всасывание)
E.g. Bird ingestion caused engine vibration and pilots had to shut it down.

CONGESTION is a situation in which a place is too blocked or crowded causing difficulties.

Turbulence stands for chaotic and capricious eddies of air or sudden and violent shift in airflow.

What happens to a plane when it encounters turbulence? It is exposed to shaking and tossing, abrupt jolts are felt. Everything depends on the intensity of turbulence itself.

Occupants will feel a definite strain against their seat belts and unsecured objects will be dislodged. These loose objects may drop from the overhead bins or move around the cabin and inflict injuries to passengers.People can get bruises, cuts, scratches, they can suffer from brain concussion or bleeding, sometimes turbulence can even cause limb fractures. Thus, in some cases they sometimes resort to native language. Why can it happen?- Due to stress from emergency situation or high workload or sometimes due to lack of English proficiency.
