You know this isn't a sovereign choice made by informed people because joining NATO does not serve their own best interests, it is at the expense of those interests.

I see some people citing public opinion polls in Sweden/Finland. This "opinion" reflects corporate media talking points produced by the very interests who, failing to convince the public to adopt their agenda through lies and disinformation, would topple their respective governments for not joining NATO.

You cannot have democracy if you do not have sovereignty. You cannot have sovereignty if you are a victim of massive foreign interference.

Sweden and Finland have neither true democracy nor real sovereignty in making this choice. Open / Comment

A few quick points about Sweden and Finland joining NATO:

1. Nations aren’t given a choice to join - they either join or the US removes the government and installs one that will;

2. Neither Sweden nor Finland face any threat from any nations, let alone Russia;

3. The supposed “threat” is that Russia has invaded Ukraine “without provocation” and could invade anyone else next - the “WMD” lie told now to advance US foreign policy objectives;

4. Now that Sweden and Finland are joining NATO, they will be less secure - the next time NATO wages a war of aggression thousands of miles from its own borders, Swedish and Finnish troops will be sent to die there and both nations’ treasuries emptied in the process;

5. NATO expansion is a factor of US hegemony - an unwillingness to accept multipolarism and its attempt to continue imposing unipolar primacy.

2022-05-15 14:52:36 Senseless mass shooting in New York by Neo-Nazi driven by an ideology the US and the rest of the West is not only not trying to bury - but is actively encouraging it, enabling it, and exploiting it in Ukraine.

Just as backing extremists in Syria blew back and got people killed around the globe, there will be blowback from the US and its allies backing Nazis in Ukraine.

The UK Guardian claims Ukraine has “won the battle of Kharkiv” driving back Russian attempts to encircle and take the city… only Russian forces were not trying to take Kharkov. The primary objective, according to even the Pentagon, is the Donbas region, all other objectives are secondary.

Russian forces around Kharkov are engaged in a fixing operation. As long as Ukrainian troops are forced to remain around Kharkov instead of reinforcing Ukrainian troops in Donbas, Russia’s fixing operation is a success.

The fact that the Western media has to embellish minor and superficial gains on the battlefield as a major “victory” illustrates just how little success Ukraine is actually having.

1. The UK Ministry of Defence admits it is scouring the globe for Russian and Soviet stockpiles of military equipment;

2. UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace admits that the most optimal equipment to send Ukraine is equipment they are already familiar with;

3. Western equipment takes week, months, and in some cases years to not just learn to operate, but integrate tactically and strategically into combined arms warfare;

4. The army the US and NATO spent 8 years building before this most recent conflict is being destroyed faster than the US and NATO can replace it - and it wasn’t an optimal force to begin with;

5. A similar process played out in Syria from 2015 onward, ultimately failing and necessitating the direct military intervention by NATO (the US and Turkey) in Syria to occupy parts of the country, spoil victory/reconstruction, and preserve the remnants of their proxy force;

6. Direct Western involvement in Ukraine, similar to the “buffer zones” created in Syria, is likely the best choice among the West’s poor choices left.

2022-05-12 13:22:37 A few thoughts regarding Washington's shifting policy of turning Taiwan into Asia's "Ukraine:"

1. Taiwan is to China as Ukraine is to Russia, in other words the US seeks to wage a proxy conflict through the breakaway island province in the same way the US is waging war with Russia through Ukrainian forces;

2. Just as US training and arms sales to Ukraine has done absolutely nothing to “repel” Russia, US training and arms to Taiwan will not only not “repel” any military operation to reintegrate Taiwan fully, it will most likely only accelerate provocations toward such a military operation;

3. Washington’s goal in both Ukraine and Taiwan is not to preserve the regimes administering either territory, but to create and use conflicts involving both territories as justification for isolating Russia and China;

4. The Western arms industry obviously is benefiting to the tune of billions regarding arms sales to not only to Ukraine and Taiwan, but also to nations as part of “preparing” for wider conflict between Europe and Russia as well as Indo-Pacific nations and China;

5. In both cases it is clear that the US is not underwriting security for either Ukraine or Taiwan as well as the regions both territories reside in, and instead, is the greatest threat to both regions and wider global peace, stability, and prosperity. Open / Comment

Update for Russian military operations in Ukraine for May 11, 2022:

-Russia celebrated Victory Day (May 9) with respect and dignity - without a need for flaunting “victory” in Ukraine;
-Canceled flyover was due to weather and has happened in the past, including as recently as 2017;
-For perspective, Russia was to fly 77 aircraft over Moscow which is more aircraft than Ukraine now has in its entire airforce;
-Ukraine’s desire for a symbolic victory resulted in a disastrous operation around Snake Island and a costly “advance” around Kharkov versus Russian troops merely performing fixing operations;
-Pentagon admits Russian progress continues in the Donbas, however “slow and uneven;”
-Even Ukraine’s General Staff admits Russia continues on the offensive in the Donbas;
-Russia takes Popasnya, constituting a major breakthrough of the line of contact in the Donbas;
-Russia will continue focusing on Donbas while holding positions elsewhere in Ukraine;
-Once Donbas is secured, the next area of focus will be targeted (for example Kharkov, Nikoliev, Odessa);
-This systematic approach is precisely how Russia and its allies retook Syria’s major population centers from 2015 onward;
