After being hit by "substantial flooding, rockslides and mudslides", all entrances to the 2.2mn-square-mile Yellowstone National Park have been slammed shut with roads and bridges severely damaged.

Record high temperatures melted around 5 inches of mountain snow in Montana over the weekend, filling rivers to peak levels, with more than twice that still left. One house was swept into the Yellowstone River on Monday, with cars hit by boulders as visitors raced to escape.

Israel's energy ministry claims "significant" gas exports to the EU can now take place under the memorandum of understanding signed Wednesday in Cairo with the Egypt and the bloc.

The EU will reportedly encourage companies to look at exploration tenders in Israel and Egypt as part of the agreement, before weaning itself off gas imports by 2030 to stick to its carbon neutral goal.
