Or it leads us to some sort of new “updates” section for events that are not messages.— Telegram Messenger (@telegram) May 31, 2020

Hello! For the past couple of weeks we've been asking for recommendations through Twitter to celebrate a century of women's votes, culminating in a survey on International Women's Day, to determine some popular favourites and create a list of 100 women poets. We thought we'd see what Reddit thinks! The top 10 our followers picked:
1. Emily Dickinson
2. Sylvia Plath
3. Elizabeth Bishop
4. Elizabeth Barrett Browning & Christina Rossetti
5. Alice Oswald
6. Carol Ann Duffy & Sappho
7. Eavan Boland & Anne Carson
8. Maya Angelou & Helen Mort
9. Louise Gluck & Sharon Olds
10. Liz Berry, Gillian Clarke, H.D. & Anne SextonThe full 100 list can be found here: https://www.poetrybooks.co.uk/blogs/news/pbs-official-a-to-z-of-100-women-poets-to-read-nowWhat do you think? Would your top 10 be completely different? Any glaring omissions in the 100?

2018-03-09 16:41:09 [Help] Find a poem i heard about
I was at a Jonathan Richman concert last night and he quoted a poet, speaking about the diving and the eagle, and how when the eagle dominates, the divine cannot something, and that "this lover's lane is narrow". I asked him after the show who he was quoted, and I was sure I heard Calbert or Cabert or Caber or something, but I can't seem to find it either through the name or the words of the poem. He mentioned the poet being ancient something but I couldn't hear what and I didn't want to bother him as there were others waiting. He also recited the poem in its native language; it didn't sound like Italian and it definitely wasn't French, sounded more middle eastern but I couldn't say for sure. Can anybody help me out with this?

2018-03-09 13:26:06 [General] morning swim by maxine kumin...I am obsessed with the flow of this one.
Morning SwimInto my empty head there comea cotton beach, a dock wherefromI set out, oily and nudethrough mist, in chilly solitude. There was no line, no roof or floorto tell the water from the air.Night fog thick as terry clothclosed me in its fuzzy growth.I hung my bathrobe on two pegs.I took the lake between my legs.Invaded and invader, Iwent overhand on that flat sky.Fish twitched beneath me, quick and tame.In their green zone they sang my nameand in the rhythm of the swimI hummed a two-four-time slow hymn.I hummed "Abide With Me." The beatrose in the fine thrash of my feet, rose in the bubbles I put outslantwise, trailing through my mouth. My bones drank water; water fellthrough all my doors. I was the wellthat fed the lake that met my seain which I sang "Abide With Me."—Maxine Kumin

2018-03-09 06:26:05 [MISC] Looking for poets/writers for generative Correspondence Exercise (email poetry tag)
Hey everyone, I'm looking for a/some writers for a generative email exchange that is simple but helps keep up production. All it is, is one person starts the exchange by writing a poem or piece of flash fiction/vignettte/whatever and the other person picks out one thing from that piece, a word, phrase, object, place, theme, whatever, and write your own piece. Then the first person picks one thing from that piece and responds with their own. Respond when you have a chance, ideally in less than 2 weeks, but few real 'rules'... each piece is solely the author's, and I try to write my responses in half and hour or under, so it's an excuse to knock out a first draft to later edit.I've gotten quite a few good pieces out of the exercise in the past, though people usually seem to stop responding around 3-5 pieces in for some reason. If you have any questions shoot, and I look forward to possibly playing poetry tag with some of you out there.

2018-03-09 01:56:10 [Help] trying to find a poem
I read this poem years ago about an immortal knight who can't help but slay his foes on the battleground but just wants it to end. I remember the title was "a good knight to die" or something along those lines. He was on horseback and rode toward the last foe, driving his blade straight through them. And I remember he sheds a tear afterward. Does anyone know this poem? I would love to read it again.
