2021-05-15 16:14:56 I know many people struggle to read in English because they find the language too tough or have to stop to check the meaning of words every 2 seconds. That’s why you should start with Graded Readers. Here is the Great Gatsby for Intermediate/Upper Intermediate students. It’s a short version of the full book and a good way to start your reading journey in English.

2021-05-09 11:08:16 After I got my results, many students who are preparing for IELTS asked me if getting 7 in IELTS was easy. At first, I used to think the same way, because I spent my whole childhood learning English. But when I started attending IELTS classes I have literally changed my opinion: IELTS is the whole new world. It is not impossible to get a good score but it takes work. I replied to all who asked me: “Everything depends on you.”

I had a great experience with A+ Academy center. I appeared first in the center in September 2019 and I got my overall 7.0 bands in a year. I think the main reason for this achievement is that I have good tutors and also I loved English, I forgot that I’m Uzbek, pretended that I’m a good actor who plays his role in variety kind of movies (acting in front of the camera to see my face emotions while speaking).

Although my tutors asked us to read some books that would help us to boost our vocabulary level but I broke some rules . I just did what was the most enjoyable for me. For instance I used to watch my favorite Netflix series, American famous TV-shows on you tube and I guess this was the reason I had 8.0 in Listening section. Additionally I created accounts on worldwide messengers such as Snapchat, ABLO, Twitter where I found many English pen-friends. They also helped me a lot with my vocabulary and speaking.
I am super lazy to write essays. I regret that I just wasted more that 10 months without writing any essays and giving them tutors for checking.

When my exam was too soon I realized that I should give more attention to my writing skills and immediately started to read all essays we wrote with our teachers during classes. In addition I learnt by heart all writing tips for a good score. But thanks God, I got good result (6.5).

Instead of reading recommended books for IELTS, I just re-read my favorite fantasy novels like Harry Potter, Sherlock Holms which were not only helpful for my reading but also for my outlook.

I just want to say something for students preparing for IELTS: REMEMBER Without loving what you are doing you can’t have best result. Also do not forget to listen to your tutors , because without their help you cannot achieve your goal! Good luck everyone in your IELTS journey, wish you will have better results than me, Amen
