Did you know cats walk by placing their hind paws in the print left by their front?

At first glance, a swirling vortex of water seems similar to a black hole: Both take hold of the matter around them, sucking in and trapping whatever drifts too close. Well, it turns out the analogy is more than just skin deep. The oval boundary of water around a vortex in the ocean can be described with the same mathematical equations as the light that whips around the edges of a black hole.

Take a listen to this cicada’s screech. Male cicadas produce this sound by vibrating membranes on their abdomens. While cicada noises may sound alike to us humans, cicadas use different calls to alert others of a threat or attract mates.

Tip for 2022: Collect free NFTs. When NFT projects first start up, they give away free, or 99% off, NFTs to attract new users.

Signing up on the site, inviting friends, walking around - you can get NFTs worth thousands of dollars for all that.

The picture above was given away for registering on the site 4 years ago. Now it's worth from $2,000,000.

So, if you want one too — get the Ton Guys NFT. Right now they're giving away 250 NFTs worth $50,000. All you have to do is click the "participate" button.

P.S. Verified sources state this collection will be worth millions of dollars. So hurry up: Ton Guys.

Opalescent sea slugs eat hydroids (one life stage of the hydrozoa) and small sea anemones, which sting most predators or anything that touches them. Instead of feeling the sting, the opalescent sea slug ingests the stinging cysts from the prey and uses them for its own defense. Without harming the sea slug, the stinging cysts pass through its digestive system and are sent to the ends of the finger-like extensions along the body, called cerata. The sea slug can then sting its predators with those stinging cysts – from its own cerata.

The pacific walker is the world's most resilient creature.

It survives up to ten years without water, is able to survive at -271°C in liquid helium and at +100°C in boiling water, withstands a 1000 times higher dose of radiation than humans, and has even been to outer space and returned to Earth alive!

Because of its resemblance to the famous good ghost, this octopus was named Casper.

It was first discovered in February 2016. It is unique for several reasons:
- Casper moves at a depth of 4.3 kilometers, making it the deepest octopus known to science.
- The octopus spawns in water at 3°C and only hatches after four years. However, at the bottom of the Peru Basin, the temperature is only 1.5 °C. This led researchers to conclude that Casper eggs may take many years before they fully develop!
