A single tether is supposed to be worth $1 or rupees 74.37 as per the current dollar-rupee exchange rate.

Tether (USDT), the world’s largest stablecoin by market value, has turned volatile on Indian exchanges amid renewed regulatory uncertainty. And savvy traders are profiting from the price instability.

The cryptocurrency launched to help mitigate volatility associated with other digital assets should always be worth $1 or rupees (₹) 74.37, as per the current dollar-rupee or USD/INR exchange rate.

However, on Tuesday, USDT crashed on prominent local platforms, hitting as low as ₹60 on the Mumbai-based WazirX exchange while maintaining the 1:1 peg with the dollar on western exchanges.

Sports giant Nike has taken a leap into the metaverse.

The Beaverton, Oregon, company announced Thursday that it is partnering with Roblox to create a virtual world called Nikeland on Roblox’s online gaming platform.

The virtual world includes Nike buildings, fields and arenas for players to compete in various mini-games, ranging from tag and dodgeball to “The Floor Is Lava.” It’s modeled after the company’s real-life headquarters. Nikeland will be free (for now).

Ford Motor plans to increase its production capacity of electric vehicles to 600,000 units globally by 2023, which CEO Jim Farley expects would make the company the second-largest U.S.-based producer of EVs, behind Tesla.

Farley said the increase would double the number of EVs the company had initially expected to produce over the next 24 months, according to a report Thursday from Automotive News. That production is expected to be spread across Ford’s first three new EVs: the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning and E-Transit. It would come before production is expected to begin at a newly announced EV assembly plant in Tennessee, according to the Detroit-based publication.

“The demand is so much higher than we expected,” Farley said. “It’s a really new experience for this big company, trying to be agile. We had to approach it very differently than we’ve done capacity planning.”

Company mergers and acquisitions can be notoriously cumbersome processes, often taking anywhere between six months and multiple years to finalize. Then there is SonderMind and Qntfy.

On Monday, the mental health startups announced that SonderMind, which connects patients and clinicians, acquired Qntfy, a scrappy data and machine-learning company, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition took around four months to finalize after founders Mark Frank of SonderMind and Glen Coppersmith met in May this year based on a recommendation by a mutual contact.

“We weren’t actively looking to be acquired at that point in time. It just was so obvious that this is the right match. … and this thing moved relatively quickly once we realized that we are clearly attacking the same problem and the same challenge, but coming to it from very different perspectives and very different techniques.”

Dermatology platform PathologyWatch raised $25 million in its Series B financing round, the Salt Lake City-based startup announced Tuesday.

The company plans to use the money to expand—adding laboratories in Texas, Florida and Arizona—as well as grow its research on skin care diagnostics. PathologyWatch is also working on artificial intelligence technology that could help diagnose patients, once it gains Food and Drug Administration approval. The number of skin samples sent to the startup’s laboratories have quadrupled over the last year, Dan Lambert, CEO and cofounder told Crunchbase News.

“As digital dermatopathology continues to grow, it has the potential to reduce the costs of pathology by billions while creating better patient care for everyone across the country,” Lambert said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be winning so much volume so quickly.”
