3 START-UPS TO TRY IN 2022

1. Develop an app

If you’ve got a unique idea and the necessary technical skills, creating an app could be your goldmine. It’s also possible to build an app without extensive coding skills, and once it launches, it can bring in passive earnings.

2. Make a smart appliance

Smart accessories and home appliances are all the rage and becoming an important part of daily life for the average consumer. For inspiration, take note of daily tasks at home or at work that would be easier with a smart appliance.

3. Tap into virtual reality experiences

VR is the future, and the future is now. Create virtual reality experiences or accessories to tap into an industry that’s projected to grow to a $44.7 billion market by 2024.

If you've ever set up a website, you'll know that buying a domain name can be a confusing (and sometimes expensive) experience.

You'll also have probably come across GoDaddy — the biggest domain name registrar in the world.

Are there any websites left?

There aren't many sensible sounding ".com" names left, and that's partly because of "domain parking". Some opportunistic folks realized early on that the internet was probably going to be around for a while, and that certain domain names would probably become pretty valuable one day.

Snapping up available domains has become a whole market in itself - and there have been some big sales. Elon Musk coughed up $11m for "Tesla.com". Toys 'R' Us spent $5.1m on "Toys.com", and in 2019 "Voice.com" went for a record $30m.

How and Why Crypto Suffers from Unfair Treatment by Regulators, Politicians & Media

The legacy financial system and its political representatives regard crypto as a threat to its hegemony.

“The majority of perception is due to misunderstanding a fundamentally new and innovative class of technologies.

“The best investment that can be made would be around education.”

Consumers in China pick their 3 favorite electric cars — and only one is Chinese

BEIJING — When it comes to their favorite electric car brand, Chinese consumers’ top choice is Warren Buffett-backed BYD, according to a survey by Bernstein.

Elon Musk’s Tesla ranks second, and third on the list is Germany’s Volkswagen, Bernstein said. The firm cited the latest results from a regular survey of Chinese consumers in the third quarter of the last few years. This year’s survey, released Thursday, covered about 1,600 respondents.

Most of those surveyed lived in China’s larger cities, with an average age of 32 and monthly income of about 19,000 yuan ($2,969), the research firm.

The English version of the online encyclopedia gets a little over 7.5 billion hits a month — roughly one visit for every single person on the planet per month.

That's a number that could, even at a conservative estimate, be worth tens or even hundreds, of millions of dollars in advertising revenue every month. Fortunately for all of us, Wikipedia has remained not-for-profit, relying on donations to fund its operations.

Last year the Wikimedia Foundation (the foundation behind Wikipedia and the other "wiki" projects) reported income of $129m, 93% of which came from donations and contributions, which helped to fund its 550 strong workforce.

Jeff Bezos hired this Amazon applicant ‘on the spot’—here are the 2 interview questions he asked

People always want to know how I got Jeff Bezos to take a chance and hire me to work directly for him at Amazon in 2002.

Initially, I hadn’t thought about applying to Amazon. When I was growing up in Redmond, Washington, most of my friends’ parents were tech executives, and while they made good money, their lives didn’t look particularly fun to me. But many of my classmates were graduating without job offers, so I felt as if I should explore all options.

I submitted my resume to Amazon without much thought. To my surprise, I was called in for a first-round interview for a junior assistant role. I had no connections at the company, no computer science degree, and absolutely no experience working for a CEO.

These Countries Have The Most Startup Investment For Their Size

Among the world’s largest nations, the U.S. has by far the highest rate of startup investment relative to population. Over the past year, venture investors put nearly $270 billion to work—averaging out to around $800 for every person in the country.

But among all countries, the U.S. ranks fourth in per capita startup investment. The No. 1 and No. 2 slots go to Singapore and Israel, two smaller countries that punch well above their weight class for tech-driven entrepreneurship.

Among mid-sized countries, meanwhile, the U.K. was the standout, with an investment rate that works out to just under $500 per person.
