Tell-tale signs that you might be the target of a tech impersonation scam :- Call is about an unexpected technical issue
- Callers use scare tactics and threatening / urgent language
- You’re asked to reveal confidential info
- You’re asked to install remote access software
If you realise you’ve been scammed, take these two immediate steps:1) Call your bank to inform them so they can block any further access.
If you’re a DBS customer, call 1800 339 6963.
2) Lodge a police report
