2022-03-17 13:05:08 On the road to sustainable construction: Meet Oh Chu Xian, founder of Magorium, a deep-tech startup that makes synthetic road-construction materials.

While traditional construction materials like bitumen are obtained from harmful processes of mining, Magorium uses plastic trash. With its new chemical process , Magorium created NEWBitumen.

So far, Magorium has diverted over 1,000kg of plastic waste from incinerators, and into road materials!

As part of the DBS Giving Tree programme, our annual initiative to curb festive waste, DBS employees grew 7,600 virtual trees. Together with not-for-profit organisation, One Tree Planted, DBS will double that number and plant 15,000 real trees!

If you like that idea, you can plant your own tree too via programmes like Plant-A-Tree by the National Parks Board.

Here are three super easy ones to keep in your back pocket. TGIF!

1. Fried Chicken: Coat the chicken with some corn starch and deep fry

2. Curry Noodles: Add noodles and other ingredients like prawns or fishcake to leftover gravy

3. Chicken Pie: Shred chicken and chop potatoes to turn them into a filling for chicken pie. Try spring roll sheets for curry chicken samosas.
