*RBI extends tokenisation deadline till June 2022*
The RBI extended the deadline for the switch to tokenisation of data for card-based transactions to June 30, 2022. The decision comes amid demands from payment players from merchants for more time. The notification calls for customer card details stored by merchants and payment gateway to be purged as on 30 June.
*Astra, Novavax says their shorts protect from Omicron*
Two Vaccine makers AstraZeneca and Novavax said their shorts protected against Omicron as UK data suggested it may cause proportionally fewer hospital cases than the Delta variant through public health experts warned the battle was far from over, Similar encouraging evidence about hospitalization rates emerged from, but the head of a leading African health agency joined the WTO in cautioning that it was too soon to draw conclusion about Omicron variant.
*IOC, Adani Total Gas top bidders for city gas licences*
State Owned IOC and Adani Total Gas have bid for the maximum number of licences to retail CNG to automobiles and piped cooking gas to households in the latest city gas bidding round. While IOC bid for 53 out of 61 geographical areas, Adani bid for 52 areas.
