In the last 24 hours, I have been bombarded with a constant influx of hateful messages and death threats by people who have taken it upon themselves to become offended by a network I’ve worked for, for over 3 years. That hate has spread to every profile I have on every platform…

This Twitter account is my personal profile I have spent the last decade working tirelessly to build.

When I received the ‘Russia state-affiliated media’ label, I immediately tweeted calling for it to be removed, and I stand by that. I do not speak for Russia or Russian media…

Hours later, I deleted the Tweet after I received such an overwhelming number of messages and comments, from people who don’t know anything about me… yet felt the need to go out of their way to spread hatred to the extent that they threatened my life and my safety…

If you’re one of the people pushing to ban RT and threatening myself and my colleagues—I hope you know that you’re not achieving what you think you are.

Those who fight to limit the public’s access to information have never been on the right side of history. It won’t end with RT.
