2022-06-06 17:34:17 Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said work is under way with the UN to reach an agreement on a corridor for Ukrainian exports from the Black Sea, but issues between Moscow and Kiev remain.

Cavusoglu said Lavrov — accompanied by a military delegation — would arrive in Türkiye on June 8 "for talks on the issue of opening a security corridor that also includes (shipping) of wheat in the Black Sea".

Russia's offensive in Ukraine and Western sanctions have disrupted supplies of wheat and other commodities from the two countries that produce 30 percent of the global wheat supply, fuelling concerns about the risk of shortages and hunger around the world.

In a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday(May 30th), Russia's Vladimir Putin said that Russia was ready to facilitate the unhindered export of grain from Ukrainian ports in coordination with Türkiye.

An unarmed Egyptian drone was intercepted by Israeli fighter jets over the southern Negev desert earlier this week, the Israel Defense forces said Wednesday.

According to the military, the incident occurred Monday near Mount Sagi, situated only a few kilometers from the border with Egypt.

The UAV was being operated by the Egyptian military to monitor Islamic State activity in the northern Sinai desert

The downing of the aircraft was coordinated with Egypt said the Israeli side.

As clashes between the Taliban and resistance forces escalate in Panjshir, Andarab, Takhar and a number of other provinces, the National Resistance Council for the Salvation of Afghanistan has announced that the Taliban have relocated about 30,000 fighters to Panjshir and Baghlan provinces after suffering heavy casualties in recent fights against the resistance forces. 2022-06-04 04:48:30 This strike comes a day after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the Turkish military would soon “clear” what he called terrorists from the northern Syrian towns of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.

This was a reference to Syria’s main Kurdish militia, known as the People’s Protection Units or YPG along with PKK.

Baghdad has always objected to Turkish presence in Iraq while Ankara justifies it for doing cross border strikes on PKK bases in Iraq. Turkey has maintained several outposts in northern Iraq since 2016 and in April Ankara began one of its largest military operations in northern Iraq against the PKK, Operation Claw-Lock.

Turkey has also launched four major operations in northern Syria since 2016, mainly against the YPG.
