On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: There was a man who was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
وقد روى معمر، عن الزهرى، عن أنس، قال: كان مع رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) رجل،

The (man's) son came,
فجاء ابن له،

He kissed him and sat him on his lap.
فقبله وأجلسه على فخذه،

Then his (ie: the man's) daughter came and he just sat her next to him.
ثم جاءت ابنة له، فأجلسها إلى جنبه،

(The Messenger ﷺ) said: “If only you had been ʿadl (ie: just) between them!”
قال: (فهلا عدلت بينهما)
