Vacancy:
Strategic IP Deal Specialist at Applied Materials

Qualifications and skills:
• BS/MS Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or similar
• 5–10 year hands-on engineering experience – semi, display, battery, or adjacent
• Experience with structuring and negotiating JDAs, Licenses, other partnering deals
• Good knowledge of IP and Patents – IP search experience an advantage
• Patent Agent Registration – advantageous but not required
• Open Innovation – exposure to or experience with
• Strong writing ability
• Solid communication skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt

Responsibilities:
• Effectively structure and negotiate JDAs, Licenses, other Open Innovation win-win deals
• Write and negotiate concise term sheets
• Allocate IP to capture value and sustain differentiation
• Work closely with legal department to complete negotiation of often complex agreement
• IP Strategy: Setup and manage IP Awareness, Collection Searches, Landscape resources
• Generate and implement actionable IP business intelligence
• Work with patent counsel “tailoring seminal patent claims optimize business value”
• Provide input to Legal department for FTO and other legal analysis
