Qualifications and skills:
• Four-year degree or equivalent experience
• At least two years’ experience as a paralegal, clerk, or similar role in the intellectual property practice of a law firm or private industry
• A working knowledge of ecommerce websites, including the structure of websites, URLs, images, and hyperlinks; and experience with conducting complex searches on the Internet, compiling and organizing data, and preparing and submitting takedowns and other submissions to various ecommerce websites
• High proficiency with MS Office applications, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Willingness and ability to learn and expand skills
• Analytical skills with the ability to think critically
• Strong ability to multitask and ability to meet fast turnaround deadlines
• Strong orientation to detail; strong editing and proofreading abilities
• Cooperative and flexible team-oriented attitude
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
• Provide support with clearance, prosecution, maintenance and enforcement of trademarks, copyrights and patents
• Monitor internet and review websites, ecommerce websites, blogs and social media, for infringing or problematic content and draft cease and desist letters and submit takedowns
• Perform Internet searches relating to due diligence projects
• Establish and maintain internal practices and procedures for intellectual property related information, filings and deadlines
• Oversee accuracy and necessary follow-up on docket entries
• Prepare and generate reports in Word and Excel, including reports regarding pending trademark applications and registered trademarks
• Collaborate with associates across Company’s business divisions and affiliates on a variety of intellectual property matters, such as trademark, copyright and patent programs
• Maintain intellectual property portfolios with the Supervising Attorney
• Preparing applications for copyright registrations
• Registering domain names
• Support Supervising Attorney with respect to Intellectual Property matters
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Supervising Attorney or other Company officers
