Zero Discrimination Day

Theme 2022 : “Remove laws that harm, create laws that empower”

Zero Discrimination Day 2021 is dedicated to taking action to end the inequalities surrounding income, sex, age, health status, occupation, disability, sexual orientation, drug use, gender identity, race, class, ethnicity and religion that continue to persist around the world.

The symbol of Zero Discrimination Day is a 'butterfly'.

Article 15 - Prohibition of discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth

The Civil Rights Act of 1964, which banned discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

First observed in 2014 by UN.

World NGO Day

World NGO Day aims to inspire people to become more actively involved within NGOs (Charities, NPOs, CSOs) and encourage a greater symbiosis between NGOs and both the public and private sector.

The celebration was embarked in the UN in 2014, but after then World NGO Day was officially recognised and declared by the 12 member countries of the IX Baltic Sea NGO Forum of the Council of the Baltic Sea States in 2010.
