2021-08-06 03:30:04 Ratneshwar Mahadev Mandir is one of the most photographed temples in the Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, India.

The temple, while apparently well-preserved, leans significantly towards the back side (north-west), and its garbhagriha is generally below the water much of the year, except for a few months during the summer. The Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple is situated at Manikarnika Ghat, Varanasi.

It is considered one of the oldest functional Hindu temples in India.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva and Shakti, the Mundeshwari temple of Kaimur Bihar, is considered one of the oldest functional Hindu temples in India. The temple, built of stone, is on an octagonal plan which is rare. It is the earliest specimen of the Nagara style of temple architecture in Bihar. There are doors or windows on four sides and small niches for the reception of statues in the remaining four walls. The temple shikhara has been destroyed. At the entrance to the temple, the door jambs are seen with carved images of Dvarapalas, Ganga, Yamuna and many other murtis.

2021-08-04 05:30:03 The Martand Sun Temple Also known as Pandou Laidan is a Hindu temple dedicated to Surya (the chief solar deity in Hinduism) and built during the 8th century CE. Martand is another Sanskrit synonym for Surya. It is now in ruins, as it was destroyed by the orders of Kashmiri ruler Sikandar Shah Miri. The temple is located five miles from Anantnag in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Martand Sun Temple was built by the third ruler of the Karkota Dynasty, Lalitaditya Muktapida, in the 8th century CE. It is said to have been built during 725-756 CE. The foundation of the temple is said to have been around since 370-500 CE, with some attributing the construction of the temple to have begun with Ranaditya.
