2022-05-07 10:44:48 This essay is written by @alisherposts under an exam condition. What do you think about it?

In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in. What are the reasons for this? How can people research this?

Increasingly more individuals are developing a keen interest in learning more about the origins of their houses or buildings they reside in. There are a number of reasons why this is the case, and this research can be undertaken utilizing several different sources.

People’s growing curiosity about the history of their houses or areas of residence can be explained by some reasons. The main one is safety. If the premises an individual lives in is too old, doubts arise as to whether it can withstand earthquakes and other natural phenomena, so a piece of research would be useful in investigating physical properties of that building. Another cause can be to determine the value of a place of residence. When an apartment or a house is of historical importance, it tends to have a high price. The more the owner is informed about their property, the more accurately they can estimate the cost of it.

Several sources of information can be employed in this investigation. The development of technology in recent years has enabled people to find relevant information on any matter instantaneously, and buildings’ background is not an exception. So, users can search for the date of construction, the architect, interior and exterior design features on the internet. The second credible source of information can be experts, ranging from architects to historians. They usually have a thorough understanding of constructions and can provide the owners with all needed details. Finally, dwellers can address local or even national archives. These are the places where trustworthy information about almost everything can be found, so documents stored there can be of great assistance in this piece of research.

In conclusion, people’s interest in the past of their places of residence is increasing due mainly to the reasons of safety and identifying the property’s value. In carrying out this research, online sources, expert knowledge and official historical documents can play an essential part.

2022-05-05 16:58:30 The pie charts below provide data on how financial resources were used at a specific school in the UK in the years 1981, 1991, and 2001. In all the three years, the largest share of the funds went to the teachers as salaries while the least amount was allocated for insurance purposes.

In 1981, 40% of all the money at the school's disposal was paid out to the teaching staff as salaries and this figure reached 50% in 1991 when the teachers earned slightly more than twice as much as the other employees at school. In 2001, the difference was even more significant with 45% and 15% of the total funds being distributed to the teachers and the other workers respectively.

Even if the spendings on insurance had increased from an insignificant proportion in 1981 to 8% by 2001, this figure still accounted for the least percentage of the annual budget. Around one-fifth of the annual budget went to educational resources such as books in the first two years while this rate had dropped to only 9% by 2001, and the figure for furniture and equipment fluctuated between 5% and 23% over this three-decade period.

Many believe that it is important to protect all wild animals, while others think that it is important to protect some, not all of them.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is argued by some that all animals in the world should be protected. While other people think that focusing on the protection of only some of them is important, I belive all species of wild animals have to be conserved as they have an integral part in the Nature.

On the one hand, there are some reasons why some people consider that saving only certain animals is of more importance. Firstly, saving only limited number of wild species of animals costs way less than protecting all, and there exists more vital areas in the societies in which the fundings of the government should be allocated such as education and healthcare. The second reason could be that existance of some cold-blooded predators such as sharks and lions is causing the deaths of thousands of lives each year in different parts of the globe. Therefore, by taking care of some wild animals, which do not pose threats for humanity, it would be possible to save fundings to solve some issues in the societies and prevent people from being harmed by harmful ones.

On the other hand, all the animals living on Earth must not be neglected as they play an integral role in the Nature. It is undeniable that all animals are interdependant in the wild, and one species can prey on the other one, which is called "food chain". If some harmful animals were taken for granted and allowed to die away, the most essential function of the Nature would be desrupted, which could cause several problems for the human population as well. For instance, disappearing only one species of bird may indeed increase the population of the insects in the land on which they prey, and this may lead to the reduction of crop yields in farmlands. Simlar case was recorded by historians in China that the extinction of sparrows in the land destroyed the crops in an indirect way.

In conclusion, although it seems plausable to protect only limited types of wild animals owing to some economic and safety reasons, in my opinion, all the animals in the wild must be protected and preserved considering their functional improtance in the Nature.

2022-05-05 06:45:46 The pie charts illustrate how the Internet sale proportions of four retail sectors changed over the course of a decade, between 2003 and 2013.

It is evident that the market shares of the traveling and apparel industries shrank throughout this period while the reverse of this was seen in the books and film&music sectors.Towards 2013, the travel industry lost its dominance as the market leader to the film and music sector.

In 2003, the percentage of sales the travel industry made online was 36% which was nearly twice as high as that of books. Interestingly, the figures for both attire and film&music industry were almost the same at about a quarter of the total online sales each.

In 2013, however, the market shares changed quite a bit with the film and music sector taking the lead by making a one-third of the gross internet sales while the percentage of the online sales in the clothes sector was slightly less than half of this proportion. It is clear that the online sales volume of books and travel sectors collectively accounted for just above half of all the sales made on the Internet.
