Points Of The Chapter "Neural Control and Coordination"

Nissl’s grabules plays a same role as ribosome’s.

The gaps between two adjacent myelin sheaths are called nodes of Ranvier.

Broca’s area: Present in frontal lobe of cerebrum and it is related with speech.

Wernicke’s area: Present in temporal lobe of cerebrum and it is related with understanding speech and language.

Medulla oblongata: Centre of salivation, vomiting, sneezing & coughing.

Nerve fibres of PNS are 2 types:

Afferent (sensory) fibres: Carry impulses from tissues or organs (such s sense organs) to CNS.

Efferent (motor) fibres: Carry impulses from CNS to
tissues or organs (such as muscles and glands).
The resting membrane potential is -70 mV.
