NFT (non-fungible token) are unique cryptographic tokens linked to digital content, providing proof of ownership.
Non-interchangeable tokens — another name for NFTs, such assets contain information recorded in smart contracts.

While you can exchange $1 for another, NFTs cannot be directly interchanged as no two NFTs are the same.
These tokens are attached to specific assets.
As an example, they are used to prove ownership of digital objects (skins in a game or digital drawings of kittens).
It happens that an artist after selling you a digital painting may send you a physical copy of it.
