Turkish Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati told local businesses on Friday there was no cause for concern regarding potential US sanctions over their dealings with sanctioned Russian entities.

This month the US Treasury told both the country's largest business group TUSIAD and the finance ministry that some Russian companies and individuals were bypassing sanctions through Turkey.

"The letter related to Turkish business groups creating concern among business circles is meaningless. We are pleased to see that the United States, our ally and trade partner, is inviting its businesses to invest in our economy," Nebati tweeted.

On Friday, the US Justice Department is expected to publicize a redacted version of the affidavit which led to the recent search of former president Donald Trump's Florida home by the FBI, despite prosecutors wanting to keep the affidavit completely sealed.

The FBI carted away over 20 boxes with 11 sets of classified government records, including some labeled “top secret”, leading Judge Bruce Reinhardt to agree to the government’s request to redact the document.

Reinhart ordered the document to be released by noon (16:00 GMT) Friday.

US Big Pharma giant Moderna has filed lawsuits against leading vaccine competitors Pfizer and BioNTech citing violations of its Covid vaccine production patent rights.

Moderna had waived patent disputes in the early stages of the pandemic to help others roll out vaccines, but in March this year stated they expected Pfizer and BioNTech to respect its intellectual property rights.

The lawsuit claims the two rivals have copied their mRNA technology that was developed years before the pandemic began, and infringed on the coding for a full-length spike protein Moderna says it developed.

Twitter and Facebook have deleted a network of suspicious accounts said to be involved in “covert influence operations” online, including efforts to promote “pro-Western” sentiment and demonize US adversaries, according to company data analyzed by researchers at Stanford University.

Between July and August, the platforms removed “two overlapping sets of accounts” for “manipulation,” “spam” and “coordinated inauthentic behavior,” the researchers said, noting that they had found a similar “interconnected web of accounts” on six other social media sites. The accounts used “deceptive tactics” to “promote pro-Western narratives,” and many continued to operate for nearly five years.

Though neither Twitter or Meta could say who was operating the accounts, Twitter named the US and the UK as the “presumptive countries of origin,” while Meta said the activity was traced back to the United States.
