2021-11-16 19:00:06 Thankful Tuesday - Cultivate Thankfulness!!

Cultivate thankfulness. Praise God for His wonderful love in giving Christ to die for us. It never pays to think of our grievances. God calls upon us to think of His mercy and His matchless love, that we may be inspired with praise. - Ministry of Healing p. 493

2021-11-16 07:19:23 Mark of the Beast Monday

The terms, mark and sign, are synonymous in signification, both being defined, by Webster, by the word token. The scriptural use of the term seal is the same. In proof of this we refer to Romans 4:11, where Paul affirms of Abraham, that “he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had, yet being uncircumcised.” Again, the word rendered seal in Revelation 7:2, common version, is rendered sign by other translators: “having the sign of the living God.” Verse 3. “Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have signed the servants of our God in their foreheads.” But in Ezekiel 9:4, we read, “Set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and cry for all the abominations that are done in the midst thereof.” Thus these terms are used interchangeably in the Scriptures. Hence, the mark of the beast is his sign, seal, or token; and the seal of God is his mark or sign. These are not literal marks in the flesh, of course, but religious institutions or observances which will serve as marks of distinction between the worshipers of the beast and the worshipers of the true and living God; and, as we shall see in the sequel, they are institutions that stand, as rivals, directly opposed to each other.

Be Joyful in Temptations

1 Corinthians 10:13 AMP
No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].

Thank you Jesus for allowing temptations to come my way. If this sounds a bit strange consider this. The verse says “He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist]”, this means that before any temptation comes my way or in your direction, it’s a sign that God was thinking about me, He had you on His mind. What you might be able to bear I might not be able to bear, so God has to calibrate my temptation to fit my particular strength and allow only what He knows you can overcome to be presented to you, and this places His personal attention on me or his focus on you. Therefore, when temptations come, overcome temptation with joy because it’s a personal vote of confidence from God that you can overcome and that God was thinking about you.
The next time that you are tempted don’t look at it as a bad thing, but thank God for it because it’s one way to know that God was thinking about you.

2021-10-24 16:12:46 Devotional Thought for the week.

It was "by faith" that "they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land." Hebrews 11:29. In marching down to the very water, they showed that they believed the word of God as spoken by Moses. They did all that was in their power to do, and then the Mighty One of Israel divided the sea to make a path for their feet.

There is Widespread Apprehension About the Future

The present is a time of overwhelming interest to all living. Rulers and statesmen, men who occupy positions of trust and authority, thinking men and women of all classes, have their attention fixed upon the events taking place about us. They are watching the relations that exist among the nations. They observe the intensity that is taking possession of every earthly element and they recognize that something great and decisive is about to take place—that the world is on the verge of a stupendous crisis.
The calamities by land and sea, the unsettled state of society, the alarms of war, are portentous. They forecast approaching events of the greatest magnitude. The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones.
