Floyd Mayweather Jr. versus Logan Paul looks like the ultimate mismatch, but it's the latest in a number of lucrative exhibition fights featuring non-professional boxers and would seem to be indicative of boxing's increasing bastardization.

Mayweather is worth hundreds of millions, with an undefeated professional boxing record of 50-0 and multiple world title belts to his name. Paul has no belts to his name, but plenty of YouTube views -- almost six billion and counting. His tale of the tape is short; he's lost his only professional fight against another YouTuber.

After sitting in storage for decades, a painting by Winston Churchill is coming to auction at Phillips New York with an estimate of $1.5 million to $2 million.

The landscape, The Moat, Breccles, was painted by Churchill in 1921 and remained in his own collection for 40 years. “He didn’t like to give paintings away, or sell them,” says Jean-Paul Engelen, the deputy chairman and worldwide co-head of 20th century and contemporary art at Phillips.

JPMorgan Chase & Co will resume making political donations to United States lawmakers but will not give to Republican members of Congress who voted to overturn President Joe Biden’s election victory, according to an internal memo on Friday seen by Reuters news agency.

The bank was among many corporations that paused political giving following the deadly January 6 Capitol riots when supporters of former president Donald Trump tried to stop Congress from certifying the election.

From fake medicines to fire extinguishers disguised as oxygen cylinders and recycled personal protective equipment (PPE), India’s coronavirus crisis has been lucrative for its ever-inventive army of scammers, with sometimes deadly consequences.

Komal Taneja’s husband Chandrakant died gasping for breath at his New Delhi home last month after the oxygen canister that they paid $200 for on the internet never arrived.

Several hundred M5 supporters assembled at a central square in the capital Bamako, AFP journalists said, to commemorate the founding of the movement, which powered mass protests last year

But the long-planned rally was held after strongman Colonel Assimi Goita, who led a coup on the back of the protests, ousted the civilian transitional president and prime minister on May 24. The second putsch has sparked diplomatic uproar, prompting both the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to suspend Mali.

Former US President Donald Trump is suspended from Facebook for two years, the social media company announced on Friday, adding that they will no longer exempt public figures from some of its protocols.

The company’s announcement comes after an oversight board put together by Facebook criticised its initial indefinite suspension of Trump following the former president’s praise of the US Capitol rioters on January 6.

The Nigerian government says it has "indefinitely suspended" Twitter's operations in the country, the Ministry of Information and Culture announced in a statement on Friday.

The suspension comes two days after Twitter deleted a tweet by President Muhammadu Buhari that was widely perceived as offensive. In that tweet on Tuesday, the Nigerian leader threatened to deal with people in the country's southeast, who he blames for the recurring attacks on public infrastructure in the region.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he wants to improve Moscow’s ties with Washington when he holds his first summit with US counterpart Joe Biden later this month, but he set a tough tone ahead of the meeting and said the US wants to “hold back” Russia’s development.

The face-to-face meeting scheduled to take place in Geneva on June 16 comes amid deeply strained relations between the United States and Russia.

Danish lawmakers voted Thursday in favour of Denmark establishing a refugee reception centre in a third country that is likely to be in Africa, a move that could be a first step toward moving the country’s asylum screening process outside of Europe.

The United Nations high commissioner for refugees, the European Union and several international organizations have criticised the plan, saying it would undermine international cooperation and lacks details on how human rights would be protected.

In the interview broadcast on Thursday evening, Mr Protasevich admitted to attempting to topple Mr Lukashenko and said that he was speaking to the television channel by choice.
He said that he had criticised President Lukashenko a lot but "began to understand that he was doing the right thing and I certainly respect him". At the end of the interview, he burst into tears and said he hoped one day to marry and have children.

The journalist's father told AFP news agency that it pained him to watch the interview.
"I know my son very well and I believe that he would never say such things. They broke him and forced him to say what was needed," he said.
