As a couch potato , I was pretty lukewarm about yoga; I thought it was overrated to be honest and flexibility is definitely not my strong suit. I gave it a try during a stressful exam week and the results were pretty life-changing: I am now a couch potato that stretches. Not convinced? Here are some other well recognized benefits of yoga :

Less stress: Yoga promotes relaxation simply because it’s an exercise that solely revolves around controlling your breath, clearing the mind and relaxing your body— leaving no space for your thoughts to wander.

Improves concentration: Your brain concentrates best when your mind is clear. A great pose to clear your mind is an extended child’s pose. As you exhale and allow your whole body to sink into the ground, try to imagine that you’re breathing out all your worries and leaving it on the mat.

Better sleep: What made me seriously pick up yoga was how much better my sleep was when I started doing yoga right before bed. This is a great video to wind down to!

Museum of Ice Cream is a playground-meets-art installation and, even better, comes in all shades of pink!

From a bouncing house to a sprinkle pool, MOIC has 14 multi-sensory installations, all picture-perfect. They're also serving special ice cream flavours with a fun local twist— you can look out for Lychee Bandung, Taro Milk Tea ice cream, and even Pulut Hitam Potong Ice Cream!

The purpose of a routine is to add structure and some predictability to your day. It’s a given that not everyday will be the same, but allocating a time for when you’ll wake, eat, work, sleep, have fun, etc, will help you feel less stressed, and in the right state of mind to take on the day!

Every time you complete a task, your body releases a load of dopamine which not only makes you feel good, but also motivates you to keep going!

If you don’t have your own routine yet, use these steps as a guide:

Make a list of everything you normally do in a day. With a rough idea of what needs to be done, you can start curating a general to-do list.

Find what works for you because no one knows you better than you know yourself!

Be patient with yourself. Starting and sticking with a routine takes time and effort and some days will be harder than others. When you’re feeling down, remember to take note of why you might be feeling that way and how you can change up your routine to make yourself feel better!
