2021-05-07 21:47:48 Trying to ban racial profiling essentially means that via bureaucracy we want to punish people for an unfair decision making process that they make in their subconscious minds.

There was a time in American history when the media seemed a lot more subtle in its filtering of ideas. Certainly the blunt advertising of the 1950’s is primitive by today’s standards of subtle product placement and “native” advertising that surround our subconscious on all fronts. But the news media has gone in the opposite direction, becoming so bluntly biased that it is like watching those Disney/Warner Bros. animated propaganda reels from the 1940’s. Today’s “case in point” is CNN’s in-your-face interpretation of the conviction of the police officer that snuffed out the life of George Floyd while he was already handcuffed. 2021-05-07 21:35:14 The colorful parade of endless ‘identities,’ promoted non-stop by academia, legacy media and social media, poses a direct threat to the safety and sanctity of the nation state.

At first glance, it appears that the U.S. foreign spy agency, much like a number of overzealous corporations, overshot the mark in their latest promotional ad, where nearly every liberal identity is compulsively ticked in an apparent effort to ingratiate itself with the woke crowd. Or, on the other hand, did the clandestine organization reveal its global agenda moving forward? Read more by Robert Bridge

2021-05-07 21:30:21 As is frequently the case when Washington gets entangled with Israel’s perceived interests, this would not be good for the United States.

There has been virtually no American media coverage of last week’s arrival of a senior Israeli delegation in Washington to discuss Iran. The delegation included the head of the Israeli external intelligence service Mossad Yossi Cohen and Israel’s National Security Advisor Meir Ben-Shabbat. Their itinerary included briefings at the Pentagon and also with national security and State Department officials at the White House. Lest there be any confusion about the “mission” of the delegation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced unambiguously that his team would be explaining why Iran should not be trusted and that any agreement with it is “fundamentally flawed” in that it opens the door to a nuclear weapon for the Iranians when the deal enters its “sunset” phase after ten years.

Consequently, the Israelis pushed hard for maintaining U.S. non-participation in the multilateral Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear inspection program that was established in 2015 and which President Donald Trump chose to withdraw from. The secondary message from Jerusalem was that U.S. “extreme pressure” sanctions should remain in place and should, if anything, be made even more punitive. The Israeli team produced “intelligence” to help make their case, but those of us experienced in the information provided by America’s “best friend” and “closest ally” Israel would probably agree that it tends to be highly politicized and often lacking any credible sourcing. In short, it is frequently little more that fabricated material that is only intended to influence gullible U.S. government officials. Read more by Philip Giraldi

2021-05-06 17:24:33 The past week has witnessed reports of increased Turkish military activity in Iraq and Syria as well as its intruding itself deeper into the war in Yemen.

In all three cases Ankara has pitted itself against forces that are or can be seen to be pro-Iranian: Shiite parties in northern Iraq, the government of Syria and the Houthi-led government in Yemen.

2021-05-06 17:21:21 The CIA seems to have discovered what Woke Capitalists have done: if you co-opt the cultural left, you no longer have to worry about them. But personnel, inevitably, is policy.

2021-05-06 17:16:27 All the algorithm stacking by the dominant news distribution giants #Google and #Facebook also ensures that mainstream platforms and reporters will have far more followers than indie media on platforms like #Twitter, since an article that has been artificially amplified will receive far more views and therefore far more clicks on their social media information.

2021-05-06 17:09:40 While the change in status might seem inconsequential, it could be a harbinger of a dangerous future.

The East Turkestan Islamic Movement was placed on the list because of the War on Terror. Now it has been taken off because of the coming war on China.

2021-05-05 21:58:35 How did the mercurial Recep Erdogan get himself into the military geopolitical wrangle that he’s in both with the Pentagon and Russia?

April was quite a month for Ankara-based foreign correspondents who were kept busy with what seemed to be a never-ending stream of news stories about Turkey’s role in the world. After the dust has settled, many analysts might conclude that #Turkey is now more isolated than ever. The new rogue state in the Middle East. The question is whether the region is better off and more stable and – critically – if the thawing of relations, as a consequence, with both Egypt and Saudi Arabia is sustainable.

From an analyst’s point of view, Turkey’s geopolitics was always a moving target which no one could entirely understand. The opaque nature of Mr Erdogan’s strategy even baffled Turkey’s own best hacks and at times made him look almost Trump like with his serendipity.

The geomilitary strategy of buying Russia’s S-400 missile system and imagining that the U.S. would allow Turkey to also have U.S.-made F-35s was always going to be a brain teaser.

Initially, Turkey pledged to purchase 100 F-35 fighter jets. In 2018, six were meant for Turkey with some conditions about pilot training, but the actual delivery of the jets was postponed after the start of the S-400 crisis between the U.S. and Turkey kicked off.

But by July 2020, things were looking increasingly shaky as eight jets initially intended for Turkey were instead purchased by the U.S. Air Force which was followed by the cancellation of the supply of parts for the jets, from Turkey. Read more by Martin Jay

2021-05-05 21:52:35 A row is brewing between EU countries and even Brussels itself and Rabat over Western Sahara. Rabat needs to now rethink both diplomacy and media as it can’t afford the consequences.

Just recently Morocco’s foreign minister, a man who usually shies away from the media spotlight, gave an interview with a Spanish news agency berating Spain’s recent decision to admit the leader of the Algerian-backed Polisario to one of its hospitals.

The interview itself raised few eyebrows in #Morocco itself as many commented that Nasser Bourita is just parroting what the Rabat elite and the palace itself would have seen as a betrayal by Spain, Morocco’s largest trading partner and by far most important neighbour. Indeed, there is some logic to questioning why Madrid would take such a move, especially given its special relations with Morocco and not to mention the irony of the number of legal cases against Brahim Ghali being lodged by victims in Spanish courts.
