2022-08-07 08:49:28 Why Do We Blink?

Every time you blink, your eyelids spread a cocktail of oils and mucous secretions across the surface of the eye to keep your globes from drying out.

Blinking also keeps eyes safe from potentially damaging stimuli, such as bright lights and foreign bodies like dust.

2022-08-01 05:39:25 How do I prevent the yellowing of pages of a book?

This is always a problem if, like me, you have loads of books lying around.

Once the pages of a book start to yellow, there's no going back.

To prevent pages from becoming discoloured and brittle, here's a few things you can do.

Avoid Sunlight:
Sunlight is one of the biggest causes of book damage. The UV rays in sunlight can fade book covers and turn pages yellow over time, often in less time than you may think.

This is why the page edges will often appear darker than inside.

Check Indoor Lighting:
Fluorescent lighting is as damaging to paper as sunlight. If you are unable to replace the lighting in the room where your books are stored, you will need to use filtering materials to shield the light.

These materials can also be used on windows to shield the sun's UV rays.

2022-06-20 14:43:41 Which acid is found in scorpion?

Scorpion venom contains a very small protein chain called chlorotoxin, only 36 amino acids long.

This tiny protein has a very powerful effect though.

It is perfectly shaped to block chloride channels and stop chloride ions from entering muscle cells.

Istanbul is the city in the world located on two continents - Europe and Asia.

One part of Istanbul lies in Europe and the other part lies in Asia. Istanbul's European part is separated from its Asian part by the Bosphorus strait, a 31-km-long waterway that connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara, and forms a natural boundary between the two continents.
