Reasons to visit Cappadocia if you’re on a budget (some that you probably didn’t know)
1. it’s cheap. Like, really. Not as cheap as some completely unknown tourist destinations, but the price-quality ratio here is excellent. Where in the world you will be able to stay in a cave hotel, literally inside a mountain, in the middle of a scenic natural reserve?
2. You don’t have to pay for the majority of local attractions (it’s nature, after all), and those that still come for a price are negotiable. Tea with locals is almost always free, and no, they don’t try to trick you into paying for it. They’re just being nice.
3. While the hotels are mostly run by elder locals, their children often work with organised tours OR ride the air balloons for a living. The whole Cappadocia is a big family business. If you’ll be nice to people in your hotel - there’s a huge chance you’ll get a balloon ride for a MUCH smaller price than others.
