Taikang Rd
Small craft shops, cafes and bars - without the commercial atmosphere. It’s not trying to stand out, it’s not the most visited street in Shanghai, and it’s definitely not for tourists-only.
You will probably notice a nice mix of colonial and traditional Chinese buildings there. The street is located in the heart of French Concession area.
For locals - it’s one of the best arts and crafts enclave in the whole city, so be sure to explore tiny backstreets and buildings around the Taikang Lu (Road) as well. A door to one place can hide a whole labyrinth of allies, shops and bars.

OR
Bruges.
You probably know this one. Tiny, cute, more popular, but 100% worth it.

Since I jump on the whole city - here's a suggestion how to make the whol Belgium experience better. Instead of wasting your time on just Brussels, you can take a train ride to
Ghent. Same size, arguably even more beautiful, and not so touristy.

Expectations-Reality
Brussels and the Manneken Pis
Brussels, Belgium
The whole thing is, like, the size of a beach ball. The original Manneken Pis was never intended to be a work of art - it was a water distribution element from the 15th century. Basically, a glorified and quirky water fountain. Also, nowadays it’s almost always
dressed in something related to tourist seasons. The statue you can see now is not the original. The earliest «real» (restored) Manneken Pis is in the Brussels City Museum now, and what you see is nothing but a copy. The stone structure is not the original one as well. The oldest real thing there is actually
metal railing that won’t let you come close to the boy, and it’s from 1851.
Besides, many can argue, but Brussels itself is rather overhyped. The city center is tiny, somewhat dirty, the only open place in the whole center at night is McDonalds, and some areas - like Molenbeek - are plain dangerous. It's not worth than a couple days.
